Creating a collaborative and supportive space.

What is a session like?

Sessions often begin with a conversation about what is present for you physically and emotionally. In the first session and ongoing, I can answer questions about the work and give an overview of the sessions. I will often lead the client in guided visualization, breathwork, movement practice, or meditation. Most of the session is spent at the massage table (or chair or floor), where the client is fully clothed and laying on their back or side. The sessions consist of a series of contacts on the body, with each contact point lasting for many minutes.  During the session, some clients feel like they are in a deep meditative space, some fall asleep, and some appreciate verbal check-ins as invitations to explore the sensations and experiences happening in their body. There are various ways people experience the sessions. It can be supportive to give yourself time to journal, reflect, and integrate after the session in whatever way feels best to you.

What is the physical accessibility of your office?

I currently work in a second floor office with no elevator access. There are two steps into the building and then a carpeted flight of stairs with one railing. The office space is a low-scent space where minimal plant-sourced fragrances are used, though the rest of the building uses fragrances. I wash all linens with unscented detergent, and I use unscented or natural-scented (no chemical fragrance) body products. The office space has both natural lighting and lamps, which can be adjusted to your preference. The office picks up some street noise, the use of sound machines and music are available. Sessions can be done on a massage table, in a chair, on the floor, or another position most comfortable for you. There are two armchairs and a couch for seating in the office. The massage table has a working weight of 550 lbs. There are 2 single stall gender neutral bathrooms in the hallway. There are fidgets and weighted blankets available. If your access needs are not met by my office space, please be in touch as I am able to make some accommodations and may be able offer home visits or sessions from another location.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please reschedule with as much notice as possible. No shows and sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are billed for half of the rate. This rate may increase if this occurs frequently within a few months.. This fee is waived for COVID, illness, inclement weather, and emergencies.

Do you bill insurance?

No, I am not able to bill insurance for my services. Please see my Rates page to learn about the various payment options.

What is touch like in sessions?

Clients describe my touch as extremely gentle, warm, soft, and intuitive. With all clients, I strive to create a touch relationship that is consent-based and specific to your individual needs and preferences. This begins with a conversation about consent and this practice continues throughout the session. I will ask before making contact with you and also ask you to let me know if you want me to adjust my hand position, remove my hands, or go to a different place. Everyone has a different relationship to touch, I hope to honor your needs however you are showing up that day. I will use the words and names for your body that you ask me to and I default to gender-neutral and medical words (i.e. chest, sternum, belly, pelvis, hips, collarbone).

What are your covid-19 protocols?

Masks are optional during sessions. If you are wearing a mask, I will too. I typically wear a mask during the hands-on portion of the session. There is a HEPA air filter running in the office. Please let me know if you want me to test beforehand. I provide KN95 masks if you would like to wear one. I can wear high visibility masks for lip reading when requested.
